On May 22, the kick-off meeting for the preparation of Commercial Management Handbook for Construction Projects of China MCC was held in Beijing. Bai Xiaohu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of China MCC, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
At the meeting, the Engineering Project Management Department reported the preparation plan and the overall preparation schedule of the Handbook. The department heads involved in the preparation discussed the arrangements for the preparation of the Handbook, and put forward work opinions and suggestions.
Bai Xiaohu emphasized that preparing the first edition of the Commercial Management Handbook for Construction Projects serves as a key initiative for the company to further improve its commercial management system, comprehensively enhance project cost management capability and profitability, and strengthen the low-cost competitiveness of the enterprise. There are three objectives for preparing the Handbook: First, drive the company's staff to make a firm sense of "Accounting Management" and "Prudent Stewardship"; second, promote the transformation of commercial management of the company’s projects from extensive to intensive practices; third, facilitate operational accounting and target assessment by aligning with the "Amoeba" management model implemented by China Minmetals.
In terms of the next preparation of the Handbook, Bai Xiaohu outlined his requirements: First, define the management requirements by adopting the "Stretch Goal" principle and benchmarking against the best industry practices while considering the actual conditions across subsidiaries; second, meet the usability requirement of "Ready-to-use": use plain and concise language with standardized templates to facilitate rapid user proficiency; third, prioritize plan-driven execution: strengthen system thinking and leverage planning leadership; finally, enhance the sense of urgency, responsibility and mission in the preparation of the Handbook, ensuring that the Handbook is completed with high standards and quality.
